Saint Mary MacKillop is Australia’s first Saint and was canonised in 2010. She became a religious sister at age 24 and took on the name “Mary of the Cross.” St Mary MacKillop was a real Pioneer; co-founding the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart and establishing schools to educate the poor.
